The Real Estate Market is Hanging In There…

By Tamara Lloyd

It has been an exhausting week for my team and I as I’m sure it has been for you.  With daily, if not hourly, changes to what our team can and can’t do we have been making new processes every day to ensure we are complying with government regulations and keeping our team and the community safe.  As I write this (26th March) we are still able to conduct Private Inspections through both rentals and sales properties but we are having to ensure all tenants/buyers are sanitizing prior to entry and also wiping down any high touch areas between inspections.   Tenants are now conducting their own routine inspections and providing us with a report and photos to share with the landlords.

All contracts for sales and rentals will now be signed digitally so that no paper is being transferred between parties.  Keys are being sanitised, and we only have 2 staff in our office supporting our team with the office locked to the public, except to collect or drop off keys by appointment.

The good news is that although many things in the world seem to be falling apart at the moment house prices seem to be holding their ground fairly well, so this should give property owners some comfort.  Our corporate office have approached various media outlets to try and put this message forward but none seem interested in this – they continue to focus on the doom and gloom and reporting property crashes – this is not what Ray White nationally is seeing and we are hopeful due to this being a temporary crisis,  that they will hold fairly well as supply is likely to be minimal over the next few months.

From all of us at Ray White Croydon we wish you and your families all the very best in health.  We are focused on being part of the solution, not part of the problem.  And, if you are needing housing whether it is rentals or sales we will try and help you as much as we can whilst staying contact conscience.  Whilst our office is closed we are still open for business and would welcome the opportunity to do Facetime appraisals whilst you are at home – even if you are not selling – it will keep our team busy!
