This time of year is cold and not particularly inviting when it comes to outdoor activities. Leading up to and during winter people often wonder if they should hold off selling their home for spring, or if they can still get a good result in winter.

There are fewer homes on the market in winter and therefore buyers have less to choose from. As it’s a supply and demand scenario – the less supply the more demand there is. In fact open home numbers over the past 18 months or so have consistently sat in and around an average of 7 groups per Saturday open, and over the past few months this average has increased dramatically – agents are now generally finding averages are in the vicinity of 12 groups – in other words the averages have more than DOUBLED! Most homes are currently selling in around 2 weeks and are generally achieving anywhere up to 5 offers on a property.
