The name comes from the Wonga Park grazing property, which itself derives from Simon Wonga, elder of the Wurundjeri indigenous people of Melbourne. The area was part of Mooroolbark until the 1890s.

Wonga Park has a tennis club, a cricket club and numerous horse riding clubs. With the Yarra River being so close, canoeing is also a popular activity. The Clifford Park Scout Camp is also located in Wonga Park.

The weekend features our famous Scrumpy, Kelly Brothers ciders, Riders brew co beers and Kellybrook’s highly regarded estate grown wines. This years band line up: The Teskeys, The Scrims, Mission Brown, Velvet Lounge and Ginger Pony!
Located on Old Yarra Road, Wonga Park Community Cottage provides the community a meeting place, child care, playgroup, Maternal and Child Health Services and access to courses and activities.
